Overview

Sora Lucia, nestled in the heart of Rome on Via Rasella, offers a genuine taste of Roman culinary tradition. This cozy restaurant showcases classic Roman dishes with heartfelt care, bringing to the table a menu that beautifully balances time-honored recipes and subtle innovation.

Their Spaghetti Alla Carbonara stands out as a cornerstone of Roman cuisine, rich and creamy with a hint of smoky pork that lends a distinct character—some may find this intensity bold but authentic. Alongside, Pasta Alla Gricia and Lasagne Al Forno echo the roots of Roman home cooking, comforting and satisfying. For those seeking a lighter or more playful start, the Supplì and Bruschette offer perfect bites that awaken the palate.

Sora Lucia’s Ravioli Al Pomodoro and Linguine Al Principe deliver refined flavors, with delicate pastawork and vibrant sauces that highlight the care invested in every dish. The Saltimbocca Alla Romana brings a traditional meat dish that resonates well with lovers of authentic Italian fare. On the sweet side, their Tiramisù and Cheesecake with Pistachio provide a gentle close to the meal, blending creamy textures with balanced sweetness and a touch of nutty elegance.

The atmosphere at Sora Lucia is inviting, though opinions vary. Early evening dining might feel brighter and less intimate, with lively background music that occasionally diverges from the expected Roman ambiance. Yet, many find the space warm and reminiscent of a communal family gathering, vibrant with convivial energy and laughter. The service matches this vibe—friendly, accommodating, and infused with humor, making guests feel genuinely welcomed.

This spot suits those who appreciate authentic Roman flavors paired with a relaxed dining experience. Ravioli and bruschette were excellent, prices are amazing, service amazing. Carbonara was good but a strong taste of something, maybe smoky or something from the pork so a little hard to eat a lot. The lights are bright, maybe we were too early at 7 pm but didn’t have that nice ambiance. Also very odd Spanish dance music, felt like being in a Mexican all inclusive.

The food in this place is great, they have worked out the flavors in their dishes. The vibe is relaxed and it felt a bit like a large family reunion with large groups of happy and energized people enjoying a home cooked meal. The only ding I had was the restaurant acoustically can be rather loud. The staff was great, helpful with a sense of humor.

An absolutely wonderful restaurant with outstanding food! We went here twice during our visit to Rome and loved it. We had the ravioli, gnocchi, lasagna, meatballs and chocolate cake - all excellent! We loved that this restaurant was quieter and less touristy. Our waiter was great and very kind. We look forward to going back!
